THE PERSECUTED:If discovered, Christians face harsh persecution from the government and from members of the community, who are required to serve as government informants. Even those who are aware of Christian activity but do not report it to the government are punished as enemies of the regime.
Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. Hebrews 13:3 ESV
laos | remember them in prayer
Most believers are persecuted by family members or village authorities concerned that Christians offend the spirits, and the central government restricts Christian activity.

Aug. 10, 2023 | Colombia "Red Zone" Pastors Out of Contact
ay.Converting to Christianity from Islam is a crime punishable by death, and families consider it extremely shameful for a family member to become a Christian. Christian converts face harassment, the possibility of losing jobs and family relationships, and potentially death. Christians worship secretly in homes or in small groups outdoors.
ACCESS TO BIBLES:
Bibles can be found in Yemen, but they are difficult to obtain and dangerous for converts to own. For these reasons, many Yemeni believers access the Bible online

March. 30, 2023 | Central African Republic (CAR). Thousands Traumatized in the CAR
A vicious civil war in the Central African Republic (CAR), fought among multiple political factions, including some extremist Muslim groups, has forced more than half a million people to flee their homes. Many of the displaced are Christians who live in camps for Internally Displaced People (IDPs). Front-line workers say most IDPs fear returning to their land due to ongoing lack of security; additionally, “There is nothing to return to,” said a front-line worker. “Houses, schools, churches, clinics were destroyed, and gardens no longer exist and would have to be restarted.” In addition to the challenge of daily survival facing these Christians, many are also severely traumatized by the horrors they have survived. Let's pray for our brothers and sisters healing by supporting trauma care ministry throughout the country.

He is trying to find a job to provide for his family, a challenging task in his predominately Muslim country. Ismail’s wife needs medications for a chronic illness, which is an especially large burden for the couple since losing their income source. Please pray for Ismail to find a new job and for his wife’s health to improve.
october. 13, 2022| nepal | Elder Assaulted, Church Displaced Due to Hindu Opposition
A local church met on their leased property recently when an angry Hindu man interrupted, ordering the congregation to stop their Christian activities. He then dragged one of the elders out and hit him in the face with a fistful of mud. The elder, Purna Maharjan, informed the landowner of the incident, but the Hindu man pressured the landowner not to let the Christians use his land. After government officials became involved, the Hindu man demanded that the Christians should come silently, pray and then leave. He told them, “We don’t want to hear them singing and praying. If we hear them singing, anything can happen, and we are not responsible.” Some believers are scared to come to church now. Elder Purna and the congregation’s pastor have decided to move the church from that location and are now searching for land.

Pastor Attacked, Arrested During Worship Service
On April 10, three Muslim extremists attacked an evangelical church in a city southeast of Khartoum during a worship service, assaulting the pastor and two women in the congregation. The attackers also destroyed Bibles and church furniture. When officials responded, they arrested the pastor for disturbing the peace instead of the three men. The Christian leader was recently sentenced to a month in jail for the charges. Pray for this brother in Christ to remain firm in his faith during his imprisonment. Pray that he can share the love of Christ with those who are trying to silence his Christian witness.
Jun. 09, 2022| Sri Lanka | Christian Man Beaten to Death in His Home
After becoming a prominent, active leader of his church, Kalithas received threats from Hindu extremists in his community. They warned that he would face severe consequences if he continued his bold witness in the village. On Dec. 16, 2021, four men came to his home and started kicking his gate. Kalithas rushed toward them, asking why they were destroying his property. The men threw alcohol in his face and started beating him. When he fell to the ground, three men held him down while the fourth struck his head with an iron rod. After the men fled, villagers rushed Kalithas to the hospital. He remained in a coma until he died on Dec. 20. Pray that the four men who killed him are brought to justice and also come to know Jesus. Pray for Kalithas’ family, and pray that villagers who hear his story will also put their trust in Christ. (The Voice of the Martyrs)

Lea and her husband, Solomon, lived with Solomon’s father, who was a priest in the traditional religion of their village. When Solomon’s father discovered that Solomon and Lea were going to a Christian church, he killed Solomon and threatened Lea, kicking her and her three children out of his home. Unable to provide for her family, Lea sent her two older children to live with her sister in a nearby village while she works to expand her sewing business to be able to fully support her family. “God gives me peace, and I know he is with me,” Lea said. “Please pray that God will help my business grow, and for protection from my father-in-law.” (The voice of the Martyrs)
Feb. 10, 2022 | Mexico | Christians Families Kicked Out of Community
Several families have been kicked out of a village in eastern Oaxaca state because of their Christian faith. The traditional religion of the village honors pagan idols through drunken festivals, and the Christian families refused to participate in the festivals. As a result, some of the Christians were arrested by the village authorities, and the families were driven from their community. The families are currently staying in their pastor’s house. Pray for these families to remain firm in their faith as they endure hostility from their community members. Pray they can find refuge in a community where they can practice their faith without fear of further opposition, and pray that the rest of their community comes to faith in Christ. Feb. 03, 2022 | Kenya | Christians Killed in Suspected Al-Shabaab Attacks
Multiple Christians have been killed since the beginning of 2022 by attackers who are suspected to be connected to Al-Shabaab, an Islamic extremist group that targets Christians throughout Somalia and Kenya. Since Jan. 3, attackers organized in groups of around 30 people and armed with guns and knives have led brutal assaults on multiple villages in Lamu County. Several Christians were shot, stabbed or burned beyond recognition, and one woman was tied up and forced to watch the attackers behead her husband. “The main purpose of the attacks is to create fear,” a front-line worker said. “They are not happy with churches being built and are opposed to the preaching of the gospel. They want to threaten Christians’ safety so that they may run away and possibly go back to where they came from.” Pray for the Christians in this region to remain firm in their faith amid this hostile opposition. Pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones in the attacks.
Feb. 03, 2022 | Middle East | Christian Mother and Daughter On the Run
Front-line workers connected with two Christian women, a mother and daughter, who were forced to flee their home because of their Christian faith. Though raised as a Muslim in North Africa, the daughter came to faith in Christ. When her father, a Muslim extremist linked to Islamist groups within their country, discovered her newfound faith, he became furious, and he began to abuse her over a period of time. The daughter eventually had to be taken to the hospital because of the abuse. She and her mother escaped from the hospital and rented a small flat on their own. However, family members warned the pair that that the father had discovered their new location and was planning to kill them. When they learned of his plans, the mother and daughter fled to a country in the Arabian Peninsula with only the clothes they were wearing. Pray for this mother and daughter to experience the peace of Christ as they start over in their new country. Pray also that their Muslim family members come to faith in Christ, especially the father.
